BACK TO DIVISION 13 HOMEPAGE

In December 2005 Susan O'Connor Fraser of TAM COMMUNICATIONS began putting together a documentary for the Discovery Military Channel about the Coast Guard roll in Vietnam.  It first aired in June 2006 and has been on the Discovery Military Channel several times since then and will continue to be shown from time to time. It is excellent and covers every mission the Coast Guard preformed in Vietnam which includes Squadron Ones WPB's, Squadron Three's Big Cutters, Buoy Tending, Loran, Port Security, Explosive Loading and Air Rescues.  There is a lot of good film footage and interviews with Coasties who were there.  I was lucky enough to be one of those interviewed. It was an honor to help tell part of the Coast Guards untold story of Vietnam.  There is an excellent interview with BMC Pat Patterson who was aboard the Point Welcome when it was attack by the USAF on August 11, 1966. Chief Patterson is credited with saving the Point Welcome and her crew. The first two Coast Guardsmen to die in Vietnam  were on the Point Welcome that fatal night. They were LTJG David Brostrom the Point Welcome CO and EN2 Jerry Phillips.
This is a must see and own DVD and can be purchased on amazon.com for about $20.00. Click on amazon.com above to go to Amazon.com's website
The DVD is titled
COAST GUARD AT WAR by SUSAN O'CONNOR FRASER
